Kadaga donates shs20m for construction of St Katherine’s dormitory

Speaker of Parliament Rebecca Kadaga has handed over Shs20 million to St. Katherine Old Girls Association (SCOGA) for the construction of a girls’ dormitory at the school based in Lira district.
The Speaker, who is the association patron made the cash donation on Tuesday, 04 February 2020 in a meeting with the leadership of the association, led by Lira Woman MP, Hon. Joy Atim Ongom.
Ongom observed that the construction of the dormitory was a way of giving back to the school and area residents in a bid to boost the education standards of girls in the district and surrounding areas that send students to the school.
“This contribution will go a long way in constructing a four storeyed building that will house the girls’ dormitory at St. Katherine Girls’ Secondary School. In this way, we can continue supporting the community there,” said Ongom.
She said the contribution follows a pledge from the Speaker made during a SCOGA fundraising dinner meant to improve the infrastructure at the school.
Atim Ongom revealed that another fundraising will be held at the school to mobilise more resources for the project.

Kadaga who is an old girl of the school situated in Boroboro parish also donated shs10 million when she launched the old students association in 2017.
