Swearing in moves into last day

The swearing-in of Members-Elect to the 11th Parliament has moved into the fourth and last day, at the end of which, it is expected, all 529 will be duly Members of Parliament.

Members-elect are taking the Oath of allegiance and Oath of a Member of Parliament as provided for in the Constitution.

In the meantime, Members of Parliament are taking the COVID-19 test in the Parliamentary Gardens, a requirement ahead of the 1st Sitting of the 1st Meeting of the 1st Session of the 11th Parliament during which the Speaker and Deputy Speaker of the new Parliament will be elected.

The sitting is scheduled for Monday, 24 May 2021 at Kololo Ceremonial Grounds.
