Oulanyah calls for social support to communities

The Deputy Speaker, Jacob Oulanyah has called on people of good will in the country to support those in need.
Oulanyah made this call while launching the West Nile Women Development Agency that aims offering support to persons with low or no incomes.
The launch was held in Nebbi on 24 November 2019. The agency is a brainchild of Nebbi District woman MP, Hon Jacqueline Aol.

The Deputy Speaker said that as much as government has through its programmes to uplift the people’s standards of living, there are still challenges due to the limited resources.
“There are many gaps so all people of good will should come and lend a hand like the Member has done,” Oulanyah said.

He added that, ‘it is not only Uganda which has failed to support her people but world wide countries have such gaps which are filled by NGOs’.
“That is why good people like Hon Aol Jacqueline have come out with this development initiative and I urge you to support her,” he added.

Hon Aol Jacqueline said that the agency will offer support to vulnerable girls and boys.
“We shall focus on sensitization to these groups after realizing that there is a lot of gender disparity in the education sector in the district despite the government policy of UPE and USE,” she added.
At the launch, shs9 million was raised toward the agency.

In a related development, the Deputy Speaker attended a fundraising drive for Rhino Camp Catholic Parish  in Madi Okolo county where shs40 million was raised for the roofing of the church.
