Legislators celebrate Kadaga recovery

Members of the Acholi Parliamentary Group have joined other legislators to celebrate the recovery of Speaker Rebecca Kadaga..
The MPs presented the Speaker with a broom and swept her office, an act they said symbolized that the path is clear for her to resume her duties.
The legislators also prayed for Kadaga, thanking God for healing her.
Hon. Margaret Lamwaka (NRM, Kitgum district) encouraged the Speaker to continue being an inspiration to women all over the world.
“You are our mother and we are proud of you. You inspired me to join Parliament and I am happy that by the time I joined, you are still the Speaker,” said Lamwaka.
Hon. Edward Otto Makmot (Ind. Agago County) expressed his trust and confidence in the leadership of Kadaga.
“You have been steering us so well and we thank God that he was able to heal you,” said Otto Makmot.
The legislators invited Kadaga to visit Acholi, saying that the people there are eager to see, to which she promised to honor the request.
Kadaga reiterated that prayers from the nation and the rest of the world enabled her to recover.
“Thank you for the love, support and prayers. I will get time and visit Acholi,” said Kadaga.
Since her return to office early this month, Kadaga’s office has been abuzz with visits from MPs under their different parliamentary groups as well as well-wishers from outside Parliament, celebrating her recovery.
