Oulanyah urges Rotarians to give wholesomely

The Deputy Speaker, Jacob Oulanyah, has urged Rotarians to serve the community wholesomely and not as a by the way.
Oulanyah made these remarks at the installation of Charles Kiiza Lwanga as the new president of the Rotary Club of Kampala Central at Hotel Africana on Wednesday, 22 May 2019.
Kiiza Lwanga is a Director in the Office of the Leader of Government Business in Parliament.
“While in Rotary, never pick something small that you have or what you have left over but rather give what you can. Let us embrace Rotary to serve with entirety,” Oulanyah said.
The Deputy Speaker  urged the Rotarians to make contributions and support projects of other clubs.
Kiiza Lwanga said he was honoured to take up the position and promised to serve the club’s interests and the community faithfully.
“I promise to steward the club's resources well, represent the Rotary mission and values and the Four-Way test to the best of my abilities," he said.
He said that Rotary still has a lot of work to do in reaching out to people.
"There are many needy people throughout our communities and the world whose only hope will come from Rotary. As Rotarians, it will not be enough to give only what we can but all that we can," he said.
He appealed to fellow Rotarians to give with new vigour in support of the ideals of Rotary. He also urged them to carry the spirit of Rotary.
"Let us love Rotary, live Rotary, laugh Rotary, support Rotary, promote Rotary, and act Rotary as we seek to connect the world; let's share the legacy of service above self, " he added.
Kiiza Lwanga replaces Ivan Mwondha as the 27th President of Rotary Club Kampala Central.
