Speaker hosts staff to Iftar dinner

The Speaker of Parliament, Rebecca Kadaga, has hosted her staff to an Iftar dinner, the evening meal meant for fasting Muslims during the Holy month of Ramadan.

The dinner held in the Speaker’s Boardroom comes on the heels of another dinner she hosted for the Muslim Community at Parliament. The dinner was held on Wednesday, 13 June 2018.

Unlike the dinner held in May, here staff exchanged gifts as a symbol of unity and bonding of the team in the Office, said the PPS to the Speaker, Mr. Peter Busiku.

The Iftar dinner comes after a series of events that the Speaker has been organizing for her staff that are meant for team building.

The activities included the Christmas gift exchange, training, and the recent birthday party organized by the Office staff for the Speaker.

Speaker Kadaga appreciated her team for the good working relationship and for organizing such activities, which gives her a chance to interact with staff.

“I work with all these people but we rarely talk because my Office is always busy and handling different tasks. I want to thank the organizers of such events because they give me a chance to sit together with my team,” said Kadaga.

The function was also attended by the Clerk to Parliament, Mrs. Jane Kibirige; the Chairperson of the Muslim Parliamentary Caucus, Hon. Hood Katuramu and Hon. Jalia Bintu.
