Department of Seargent-at-Arms

Purpose

The purpose of the Department of Sergeant-At-Arms is to provide a safe, secure and clean environment throughout the precincts of Parliament.

Functions

1. To provide proper security to Members of Parliament, staff, visitors and facilities within the precincts of Parliament
2. To undertake ceremonial duties
3. To provide health and safety services
4. To provide maintenance and cleaning services
5. To advice on the allocation of offices and Committee rooms
