Speaker signs MOU with Turkish Parliament

The Speaker, Rebecca Kadaga has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Grand National Assembly of Turkey on the establishment of a parliamentary collaboration between the two parliaments.
The Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey, H.E. Mustafa Şentop signed on behalf of Turkey.

The MOU was signed on Wednesday, 04 December 2019 in Ankara.
The MOU is meant to facilitate the mutual benefit that can be drawn from this cooperation in strengthening democratic governance and rule of law.
“Interactions and exchange of views between the people’s representatives constitute an important part of state-to-state relationships, “the MOU states in part.

It further says that strengthening parliamentary interaction in bilateral and multilateral areas enhances mutual trust, understanding, expanding consensus and promoting cooperation.
The parties agreed to establish a framework for parliamentary cooperation within which the parliaments work together towards a more comprehensive, equal and mutually beneficial strategic partnership for sustainable development.
