Parliament reconvenes Tuesday

DSC 4647Parliament will reconvene on Tuesday, February 3, 2015, to consider the Registration of Persons Bill and the Anti Corruption Bill, 2013, which seeks to provide for mandatory confiscation of property of persons convicted under the Act.
The Registration of Persons Bill seeks to harmonise and consolidate the law on registration of persons; to provide for registration of individuals; and to provide for the issue of national identification cards and aliens identification cards.
In a communication to Members of Parliament, the Clerk to Parliament said that “You will recall that on December 19, 2014 Parliament was adjourned sine die. This is to inform you that Parliament will reconvene on Tuesday, February 3, 2015 at 2.00p.m for the 3rd Meeting of the 4th Session.
Before the commencement of the plenary, the Speaker of Parliament, Rt. Hon. Rebecca Kadaga, will launch the Village Ambulance, created by Pulse Uganda, with the objective of reducing the number of mothers dying from childbirth in Uganda.
The Village Ambulance is intended to ease transportation of patients to hospitals and health centres in rural areas. It is a custom-built trailer designed to be “pushed, pulled by hand or pulled behind virtually any motorcycle or bicycle.”
