The Committee on Government Assurances is mandated to-
a) scrutinise the assurances, promises and undertakings given by Ministers and other agents of Government in Parliament from time to time and report on the extent to which those assurances, promises and undertakings, have been implemented. b) comment on delays in implementation and the adequacy of the actions taken. c) exercise such other functions that are not covered by paragraphs (a) and (b) as may be allocated to the Committee by the Speaker from time to time, and d) report on- i. the extent to which such assurances, promises, undertakings and any other matters related to the foregoing have been implemented, and ii. where implemented, whether such implementations have taken place within the minimum time necessary for the purpose. Without prejudice to sub-rule (6) of Rule No.134, the Committee on Government Assurances is to be chaired and deputized by Members designated by the Official Opposition Party or Organization.
