The Rt. Hon. Speaker of Parliament, Rebecca Kadaga, has expressed gratitude to Busoga Twegaite International for their efforts in the development of Busoga region.
While flagging off the third Busoga Twegaite International Nile Run in Jinja on Saturday, 15th April 2017, Kadaga said that for three years now, the organisation has been consistent in its charitable cause towards development of Busoga.
"Whenever I would travel to America, I would lobby Busoga Twegaite International to help the people of Busoga. I am proud to note that they have honoured my request," Kadaga said, adding that, "I am grateful for the cancer machine that they donated to Jinja Hospital last year and their contribution to Hospice Jinja of a vehicle and Shs12m, and for many other contributions they have made to the society."
Kadaga who was the Chief Runner, participated in the five kilometre run and thanked all those who had participated in the run.
The run attracted a number of schools including; Busoga College Mwiri, Wanyange Girls' School, Kiira College Butiki and Jinja Secondary School among others. The proceeds from the run will go towards the Jinja Hospital Cancer Ward building.
